The Application of Geo-information Technology to Delineate Agricultural Maps of Parcel from Satellite Data, , Bo Thong District and Si Racha District, Chon Buri Province

บทคัดย่อ

The objective of this research was to estimate the agricultural area from satellite data and to engage in techniques for mapping land parcel from high resolution satellite data. The study area was in Bo Thong District and Si Racha District, Chon Buri Province of the Eastern part of Thailand. Data preparation was taken to include geometric correction, color composition and image enhancement. Typical image interpretation elements were used which included color, tone, texture, size, shape, pattern, shadow, location, and association.
The result of image interpretation and analysis indicated that the agriculture area for Bo Thong District, Chon Buri Province in 2017 was 379,838 rai. The classification accuracy undertaken in the process achieved 81.46%. The mapping of agricultural land parcel above provide insight into detail in land use of Bo Thong District of Chon Buri Province that out of the total agriculture land area of 379,838 rai there existed 3,177 rai of rice area, 62,818 rai of dry crops, 303,970 rai of perennial crops , 2,382 rai of aquaculture area and 7,490 rai for other area.
The result for Si Racha District, Chon Buri Province in 2017 was 105,751 rai. The classification accuracy undertaken in the process achieved 80.33%. The mapping of agricultural land parcel above provide insight into detail in land use of Si Racha District of Chon Buri Province that out of the total agriculture land area of 105,751 rai there existed 1,473 rai of rice area, 72,747 rai of dry crops, 20,145 rai of perennial crops and 11,386 rai for other area.
From the parcel mapping of agricultural land of the study area indicated above, it was found possible to draw some recommendations as follows: It would be wise for farmers to engage in new planting approaches, for example, adjusting planting schedules, planting crops that require less water such as maize (corn) for livestock or variety of beans (peas) based on land suitability and market needs.
